Areas of Law: Parenting

Parenting and timesharing issues are often the most challenging aspects in either a divorce or a paternity case. During this difficult process, children especially are affected by new family arrangements. It is the firm’s goal to settle these issues outside of the courtroom, using mediation or an alternative dispute resolution method. Gordon Brydger and Carin Porras both seek to resolve the parenting and timesharing issues and guide their clients to a resolution of these issues in a way which will allow and enable the clients to co-parent with the other parent and minimize the negative effects the process has on children.

Children’s issues are emotional and difficult and include numerous important details, such as timesharing during the week as well as weekends, holiday periods, and summer. Additional causes of concern for many clients include schooling, health care, orthodontics, religion, and financial support for higher education or important religious events. Florida law has recently changed as it applies to "custody" and the attorneys at Brydger & Porras are knowledgeable about these changes and how they will affect these important issues for their clients. The attorneys at Brydger & Porras recognize that these issues are extremely important to their clients and they devote a significant amount of time and care in guiding clients to family arrangements to best suit their needs and those of their children.
